Home Help to Hear Fund The Help to Hear Fund The Help to Hear Fund is a registered Scottish Charity (SC0074481). It was founded by Raj Singh, OBE, FRCS in 1988. He used the money he raised to set up the Scottish Cochlear Implant Programme and his charity paid for the first twelve cochlear implant operations in Scotland. By the 1990s the NHS had started to fund adult cochlear implants but the Help to Hear charity continued to play an important role as it paid for children to have cochlear implants too. Cochlear implants for adults and children are now funded by the NHS but the Help to Hear Fund still supports the Scottish Cochlear Implant Programme by: Buying equipment not readily available on the NHS. Supporting events for patients and their families. How to donate Donations can be made by cash or cheque (made payable to the Help To Hear Fund). Donations can be posted or brought in person to the Cochlear Implant Department at Crosshouse Hospital. Please contact us if you are planning to bring a donation.
