Cochlear Implant Rehab Champions
The Cochlear Implant Rehabilitation Champions Scheme in Scotland has been set up to:
- Develop awareness of the referral and care pathway for children and young people that may benefit from cochlear implants.
- Provide training/conference opportunities in the wider field of CI.
- Provide training regarding new technology released within the field of CI.
- Provide training on or development of new resources in (re)habilitation.
- Discuss provision of resource across council areas with reference to reports such as CRIDE 2024 and ongoing work within the SLT Clinical Excellence Network Scotland.
- Network with other TODCYPs and SLTs.
- Discuss and plan provision with 0-18 year age group of Deaf children and young people.

Children
- Rehabilitation downloads for Children. This website has lots of downloadable resources for professionals to support children with cochlear implants. it includes 'all about me' and strategies cards as well as detailed, fun, themed lesson kits that help a child to develop their listening and language skills (with increasing levels of difficulty). It also contains professionals assessments such as 'Little Ears' diaries and minimal pairs test.
